Since its inception in 2009, the Homes on the Homefront (HOTH) program has made a lasting impact—helping over 600 veterans take meaningful steps toward stable, long-term housing.

As part of our commitment to supporting those who have served, 1st Veterans Kids Care is proud to bring this transformative housing initiative to our community.

What is the HOTH Program?

​

The Homes on the Homefront (HOTH) program provides eligible veterans the opportunity to move into an Operation Homefront (OH) home, where they receive ongoing support and resources as they prepare for homeownership.

Through a partnership with OH caseworkers and certified financial counselors, participants receive:

• Personalized financial literacy training

• Credit repair and budget planning

• Guidance on mortgage readiness and long-term stability

This program is more than housing—it’s a path to independence, empowerment, and lasting success.

Who Can Apply?

​

Veterans eligible for the HOTH program include:

• Honorably discharged or retired veterans

• Service members who served in the National Guard or Reserves

Each participant undergoes a thoughtful application process and is matched with experienced caseworkers dedicated to their success
